He added that the award aims to create an environment that nurtures the sustainability of cultural heritage, promotes human heritage, honours successful efforts and supports inspiring initiatives locally, regionally and internationally. It is noteworthy that the Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage is an international award of appreciation with standardized scientific standards granted by the Institute to individuals, groups or projects. Its main goal is to appreciate the efforts made in preserving, protecting, studying and ensuring the continuity of cultural heritage. It is divided into three fields: best practices in preserving cultural heritage elements, best narrators “living human treasures” and best research and studies in cultural heritage. These fields include 9 categories and 3 categories in each local, Arab and international field. The Sharjah Institute created the “Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage” to be held annually since 2016. Since the first session, the award has achieved a lot of qualitative interest in its various branches and its local, Arab and international branches, celebrating a group of experts, specialists and researchers who have dedicated their lives to serving, preserving and protecting cultural heritage and have achieved the best preservation practices. Their experiences have constituted milestones locally, Arab and internationally.
