The Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage is the first Arab international appreciation award with standardized scientific criteria. It was established by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, under Emiri Decree No. (19) of 2017. The award has legal personality and capacity to act within its objectives. It is granted to individuals, groups, or projects, with the main purpose of appreciating efforts in preserving, protecting, studying, and ensuring the continuity of cultural heritage. The award is distributed across three fields: Best Practices in Preserving Cultural Heritage Elements, Best Narrators (Living Human Treasures), and Best Research and Studies in Cultural Heritage. These fields include nine categories, three in each field: local, Arab, and international.

Value cultural heritage preservation practices and crown the most deserving according to internationally adopted standards.
