Best Practices for safeguarding of Cultural Heritage

Overview

A cultural achievement that meets a cultural or societal need or addresses a specific issue. It is an initiative or a project that comprises a set of activities aimed at achieving clearly defined objectives, centred on the celebration, safeguarding and promotion of cultural heritage, in order to serve specific groups or communities within the framework of an integrated plan.

Terms and Conditions for Participation

The practice (initiative or project) must not be repetitive or previously implemented in the same form, so as to preserve its originality and pioneering character.
The practice must not have previously received awards at the national or international levels.
Each nominating entity may submit only one practice (initiative or project).
The practice (initiative or project) must have passed through the three scientific stages of project development: project planning, project implementation, and project evaluation and results.
A sufficient period must have elapsed since the implementation of the submitted practice (initiative or project), not less than two years prior to the year of application, and it must not be dependent in concept or execution on another entity, in order to ensure its originality and quality.
All supporting evidence and attached documents must clearly indicate their dates of issuance.
The total number of pages of all attachments must not exceed 150 pages.
No more than two attachments may be included per page. In cases where attachments or documents are unclear or illegible, they shall not be considered in the evaluation.
